why hast thou startedtodayandmademesad, oh school.

its been really long since ive posted. and alot of things have happened(:

school:

ive got rather good results for the effort ive put in. its really quite humbling to see how well ive did despite the slacking ive been doing. i got an all time record 72% average! quite cool right.

holidays:

i stayed over at john’s house two nights(: and it was quite interesting. havent done that in quite awhile. its quite interesting what bridge and a overrated movie’s piano song can do to a group of friends.(:

and i went for prayer mtg! wow. haha first time in about half a year=x well its good to be reminded of spiritual stuff early in the week(: but it was quite interesting cause the message was on deut 29:29 on the secret things belong to the Lord and all.. and i watched push just before that(watchers:D)

oh then i had frisbee camp/chalet. i woke up late and missed all the suicide runs and baby jumps xD but it was quite interesting. first time i played on a muddy field. it was seriously super muddy and sick. all the mud puddles and etc=x but aaron’s house was quite interesting(: all the frisbee videos made me wanna layout. then when we went to sentosa the next day i FAILED. tragic right. haha oh wells(: but we thrashed clement’s team 7-3(: not very exciting but at least got some sort of satisfaction xD and i finally got to rest on friday(:

OHOH. and i got DISTINCTION FOR GRADE FIVE PIANO. i know its nothing much but to me its a super big thing ok:D must be cause of my new piano hehehe.

k on to more serious stuffs(:

i was on the mrt going to somewhere i forgot where. when i felt abit guilty and i took out my handphone and read the Bible(: and i came across this verse "O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. psalms 34:8"

yeah and it kinda caught my attention. firstly, sometimes you know when a gas gets too concentrated in the air you can actually taste it in the air. it the same way, God’s goodness saturates the air so much that we can genuinely taste it(: its comforting to know that no matter where you turn or go to you’ll always be in contact with God’s goodness(: secondly, sometimes when the reaction is underway a gas is evolved. and only a few gases can be seen(: (like nitrogen dioxide and bromine k nvm not important.) when the air is saturated with the gas then you’ll see it clearly(: and when its there you can actually visually justify the presence of it(: k doesnt really make sense right. (think doubting thomas)

furthermore you’ll have to agree with me that the kjv has a very beautiful artistic sentence structure, “O taste and see that the Lord is good” doesnt it just comfort you(: k sorry i dont think im making much sense. but ah wells.

heyloo(: never blog for so long alr. finally exams are over(: left with a few outstanding projects and assignments here and there and that should be all(: thank God my results have been rather satisfactory. sometimes it just makes you feel how unworthy you really are to be receivers and partakers of God’s wonderful grace.. oh and stars are really really nice(: its beautiful to look up and see a night sky full of God’s delicate handiwork. especially when they stand out in the silence of the night(:

i love frisbees! ok whats new right. heh we owned the yr 6′s on thursday:D wow im super glad its the weekend already. means rest and more frisbee(:

and yesterday was actually sentosa to celebrate Aaron’s birthday(good excuse right) haha yup(: and i think i played slightly better(: my last huck was seriously seriously pure skill.

well things are looking better for me now and hopefully they’ll improve(: God bless all.

 

wahh school life is seriously becoming super jia lat.
actually life on a whole. ahh gonna die alr. too many things to handle too little time and too little healthy moments): what happened to the good old days of primary school maple global times): and sec one and two go home sleep times and sec three’s go out exhaust every movie possible and still dont know what to do times.. now got b div table tennis competition and class tests and the ltf cny visitations and all. wow. oh and i love frisbees although recently my playing really sucks): like totally pass completion rate is 40%. life is tough.

firstly.
the moon gives us light in darkness.(wah really ah.)
2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
i dont think i need to state the usefulness of light right.
secondly.
the moon is still there even though you may not see it. although the moon goes through phases and all, its still there(: our God is an unchanging God and He’ll always be there even though we may not see His hand or His blessings. the new moon is as present as the bright shining full moon.
thirdly.
the moon doesnt shine only because the earth blocks the light to it. God is always there(:
Psalm 34:8
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
often times its cause of our own human nature that we block the light reaching the moon, and in theory blocking path of light to ourselves.
sometimes we have lunar eclipses when the moon is totally not seen. but its just a phase in life(and the moon) and God just seems so far away. but we are to cry to the Lord with broken and contrite hearts, for “This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.(psalms 34:6)” wonderful promises to claim(:

zai jiann all. haha from friday till wednesday im off to KL(: for cdp. character development program **audience coughs** yes it is! and the shirt looks like some detergent advertisement! wow! ensures that you get stares near and far in ten seconds or less or your money back! ok nvm spaz. yup have a great ltf and blessed Lord’s day(: dont miss me too much cause i’ll be too busy having fun to miss you back. haha ok nvm(: if there’s anything really urgent like your pet grass needs a new pogo stick or smtg then sms me. if not please dont thank you(:

so ironic. after longing for school to start and all im really starting to dread it. reality’s hit me with all its got): and its really quite alot. all those flowery new year resolutions and hype about it being a good year seems to have disappeared rather quickly. its like for two months you enter ikea and stare at all the cool furniture and dustbins and you come back out to the world. ok maybe not quite. but still.. its like the school days seem longer, the laughter doesnt seem that funny, the homework seems to photocopy and give itself, the frisbees dont fly that well, the astroturf doesnt seem that artificial, the prata doesnt seem that crispy, the donburi’s no longer taste like artificial crack.
my teachers are a very very exciting set.
my form teacher’s from china and my co form is from the states. wonder how that works out. my form teacher has recently been placed in charge of table tennis. whoohoo. my year head teaches us bio while our assistant year head teachest physics. our language arts teachers are both the same person. we have mortimer(not real name) as our math teacher and we absolutely love him. the rest of the teachers i dont feel like talking about.

colors.

hey everyone(: its the end of the year already.. time flies amazingly fast. i becoming old man alr. seniors of the school already(: wow so many alreadys. quite cool. i still remember when i was sec one. the orientation camp and how i was the only maris stella boy in my class): ah wells. i’ve been through the blue level, then red then yellow and now its green. furthest from the canteen D: well. its amazing that every color represents another year that God has seen me through by His really wonderful grace and mercies. it is truly by His mercies we are not consumed. looking back on all those stupid and really useless things ive done. its impossible not to marvel at such grace that forgives and writes off these things.

blue -
the color of the sea and sky. represents the consistency, the unchangeable nature of the Lord(: the God of abraham and jacob and all is the God of ours(: there’s no way that He will not see us through the coming year, since He’s seen us through all the past(:
i suppose blue is also a rather peaceful color(: and it shows the peace that every believer has in Christ Jesus(: not as the world gives(: its that peace that allows us to smile in trials, and to even weather each of those storms with confidence(:

red -
well. i suppose it kinda evokes feelings? we humans tend to rely on our feelings alot. like being emo or high and all. and it affects how we live our life and all. and our love is also an emotion, a feeling. but God Himself is love(: there is no way He will not love, for the simple fact that He is. well. err love(: the Love of God. amazing stuff(: better than those stuff that allow fairy tales to end with happily every after(: better than the love that friends give and all. imagine. the Creator of absolutely everything cannot help but to LOVE you(: how cool is that. and the One who controls everything loves you too(: i suppose we dont really have to worry since God is ultimately in control of all right(: and all things will work together for good to them that love Him(:
red also shows anger. but interestingly the gospel message can sorta be derived from there too(: imagine. we are sinful. God hates sin. so He’s angry with sin. but His LOVE was so great that He sent His only begotten Son to die for us. cause He lived a perfect life He bore the sins of all. and His blood (see red again:D) was shed for all, that we would stand justified before the Lord(: hope it somehow makes some sense.
the blood of Jesus is red too(: since He was fully human and fully God too(: i guess one reason why we spill blood so easily is so that we’ll be often reminded of the great sacrifice that Jesus paid on the Cross(:
furthermore, red is also kinda like fire(: its WHY we should be IGNITED with hearts aflame for Christ, that the H2O of the world cant quench us, that we may be soldiers for Christ, girded with the ARMOUR of God, with one body, united that there may be no DIVISIONs(sorry cheated abit) sorry last two cant think alr. BFG went to eat FRUITELLA. sorry. randomness. that aside. i guess we should really have more fire within us, to even be full of our first love(: and to spread the gospel(:

yellow -
a bright and optimistic color. represents our great joy that we christians have in Christ(: and what hope we have of seeing our Lord face to face, where no tear will fill the eye, where we’ll know the reason behind every trial and tear that graced our pilgrim life on earth(: rejoice in the Lord(:

green -
grass(: Psalm 103:15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. how fragile our life is. our days are like GRASS leh. our days are like the stuff that we step on when we play frisbee.
Isaiah 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
well.. read your Bible(: and another point to add about God’s unchanging nature(:

green symbolises growth too(: so even as the years pass and we draw closer to seeing our Lord face to face, may we also grow in Him(: allow the Holy Spirit to sanctify us(: and mature as christians(: as a nice friend wrote in my notebook “a young christian thinks of himself as something. a more mature christian thinks of himself as nothing. but the truly mature christian thinks of himself as less than nothing.” strive on in the Lord(:

heylo all im finally back(: fine ive actually been back for quite awhile just that i couldnt really be bothered to post.
kuching was pretty cool with all the blue seas and marble beaches and all. although i think i got burnt bad there. its quite cool to marvel at God’s creation in the hotel room while your parents are out eating durian. heh. oh and its quite cool when i realised that nearly the entire population were christians(: quite a good point to reflect on how God can actually plant a christian community as a capital of sabah(or was it sarawak).. in malaysia.

kinda reminds me of a stream in the desert(: God’s providence(: things really do look nicer when youre taller heh.tbc(: and more pics. nites and God bless all(: ltf camp was not bad(: although it could have ended better(;

holidays havent really been happydays.
ive realised i have quite a few unfinished posts. haha my results have actually been rather good(: by God’s grace their above average. and wonderful if you ask me(:
oh and o lvls was.. rather easy(: although i cant say i studied for it=x ah wells. win or lose give thanks right..
and i havent played frisbee for close to a week. so tragic.
overall. its been pretty saddening):

results eve.

ahh eoy results coming out tmrw. cant say im particularly pleased with the amount of effort i put into preparations for the exams.. sucks when you regret stuff): anyway. i shall commit all to the Lord. whats the use of worrying? after all the Lord is in control of everything(: ok that aside.
the past week.
last week wednesday spent it ermm.. doing weird stuff? and watching house bunny and etc i think=x haha way weird.
thursday was spent at sentosa. it was WONDERFUL. then it was so funny. everytime got cloud cover we would run out and play then the clouds go away we run in again xD playing on the beach is so different. your legs do alot of work but you dont seem to be going anywhere(sounds like my dog on a slippery surface:D) haha and the sun was seriously diabolic. the sand is like some open air oven to toast your feet.. overall wonderful experience(; and we went to watch mamamia after that at vivo.. we kept laughing throughout the entire show cause it was pretty corny.. and i got super uber burnt(: like really gone case sunburn cream cant help type.

friday. went to school to play frisbee in the morning.. although it was quite waste time.. little p6 kiddies came to our school to play stuff(: so fun to see them play frisbee **frisbee is thrown considerable distance** **kids all run to spot and go for the disc rugby style** **someone manages to get hold of the disc and hurls it nearly 90degrees up in the air** **cycle continues** then orchard then nothing much.(:

sat was a normal normal day except that my dad was sick): piano for ltf was really really scary.. cause my good friend decided to give me the songs in installments(: ah wells. service to God is nice(:

sunday went to celebrate marc’s birthday(: we gave him an ac disc with all our well wishes(:
(oh and i currently have 4 discs:D black and sparkly stars, ac and some love thing disc – ironic eh?) haha(:

monday was normal, tuesday ponned school cause i was sick. **ahem** yes sick indeed. and today.. aaron and lime just went home. we played night frisbee quite cool. then like some three man juggling thingy. continuous throwing of round circular shaped pieces of plastic. haha and lime kept throwing into other people’s houses.. speaks alot about his skill right.. xD

haha in the end we got bored in the train and we were carrying an unusually large amount of discs:D

eh i was bored during lang arts b ok. haha:D

moving on to spiritual stuffs(:
i guess one thing i really have to keep in mind is that through our own strength we are really unable to sustain a constant relationship with God.. for example forcing or trying your best to do your qt every single day is just not enough to keep your walk with God. instead it should be a total subordination and trust in His power to keep you close to Him(: so from now on. i shall try my uttermost best to let God take the wheel(:

i officially have the same consistency as a kettle chip. i seriously wont be surprised if some producer comes knocking on my door asking me to be the next main character to replace the tomato in veggie tales due to some “blending” accident. ahh burnt until like dunnowhat. but yesterday’s frisbee at sentosa was WONDERFUL. i think my gameplay’s getting better for now. and other stuff. haha(: and andre lioe lost 5 times at indian/indo poker. super funny. and the yr5s are actually nice ppl(: and i met one of them today heh. yup. tmrw is new phone i think:D

God’s blessings and mercy can be likened unto rain.
Although it isn’t raining yet you know it’ll definitely rain in the future.
When it rains it doesn’t rain on half of you, it rains on all of you as well as people around you.
You can’t run away from rain.
Rain brings life, although on the surface it may seem troublesome.
Though there’s dry seasons, there’s bound to be a monsoon season too.
It rains regardless of day or night.
Too much or too little rain causes flooding or drought.
You don’t have to ask for rain. God knows when to send it.
Rain shows that God is in control.
Rain is sent to both good and evil people.
It’s a nice break from the heat of the day.
Even though there’s no rain, it doesn’t mean there’s no clouds.

christian literature vs contemporary music

today i had a first hand experience of the power of christian literature against contemporary music. in short. my practical religion book by jc ryles killed my ipod=x the edge pressed against it and cracked it=x ah wells. time to focus on God more(: see even books and technology are telling me to focus on God more(: they even took away my distractions(in a rather drastic fashion) i suppose i’ll need Him more now that exams are deathly near. all the more(: ohoh and i passed my chinese prelims:D wonderful. if only it was counted for eoys. well. thank God i actually got third highest in class(i shall pretend that china scholars do not take higher chinese) yup. jia you all!(:

haha teacher’s day was wonderful. seriously. i never laughed harder than that.
we were trying to make our ct and pct skip to class hand in hand in order to give them their teacher’s day present. like literally skip(me and toj demo-ed a few times for them) haha. and our teacher’s day present was hilarious. for the card we gave moghi a demerit point. not bad at all actually. we ticked off everything and for the “summary of conversation(with parents)” we wrote all our well wishes(: quite cool. then moghi was like “looks like i cant throw this away and i have to put it up on my notice board or smtg like that haha super super funny.

hmm my tagboard seems pretty alive thanks to certain people who cant seem to complete their sentences.heh. ah wells something that struck me during sunday school today.

well i was kinda thinking. our soul(as in heavenly hope) and our current lives(worldly ones) are two things that cannot coexist. therefore you kinda “exchange” one for the other. to gain your heavenly soul we should give up our worldly lives entirely for Christ, and consecrate it fully for Him. in other words to totally live for Christ such that we may gain our crowns in heaven(: and our heavenly souls are worth every single bit and even immeasurably more than our earthly lives. just like a drop in the ocean, so is our lives compared to eternity in heaven(: its so mind-blowing to fathom how we can exchange a drop for an endless amount of joy and peace. and that great difference(between the drop and ocean) is made possible only through the boundless grace and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ.

i’ve never regretted becoming a christian(: and you wont too(:

wahh sick again. sigh. well in all things give thanks eh. please pray for me thanks(: oh and i was thinking of this for the entire day it kinda struck me this morn.

Since God gave the day to you, then shouldnt we give the the day back to Him?
hmm lemme explain. since God gave you the gift of life for that particular day, shouldnt we be praising Him and committing the entire day to Him?(: after all we actually have no life in us. its God that breathes life into us and allows us to wake up every morning(: so. i suppose we should wake up thanking and praising God(:

hmm well something i thought about while reading practical religion.
Jesus asked us to strive to enter the narrow gate. (for broad is the gate that leadeth to destruction)
anywayy. its narrow gate you see. so that just means that its not easy and we’re gonna keep on bumping into the walls frequently. so. that just means that as we walk the christian walk if you dont exactly experience trials and testings and rough patches, you arent exactly walking the narrow way(: for anyone who isnt a christian or anything, well. God asked us to strive to enter the narrow gate. it doesnt matter if youre chosen or not, the point is to strive to enter the narrow gate. you’ll find limitless peace and joy in the Lord.

ehh today was pretty interesting too. yesterday wasnt cause my poor frisbee got ran over by a car. two cars to be exact. D: at least its still pretty alive. haha

math was super uber funny. our class clock wasnt working. so phoon went to hang my frisbee up where the clock was meant to be. then towards the end of math lesson, LJH wanted to know what was the time then she looked at my frisbee/clock. then she asked the class what time it was. then we told her it was 8 50. then she kept looking at the clock and wondering how we read it. it was until she stood nearly beneath it then she realised it was a frisbee:D so funny. hamzah came up with this explanation that just like the mosquito tone that only young ppl could hear, only ppl below the age of 21 could see the time:D seriously super super funny. esp the lag involved. hehe.

and i went to watch the dark knight.. it was so so longg.. haha but not bad. except alot of jing zhang parts =O haha if you like those type of happy happy endings then i suggest you dont watch it(:

what great comfort that is. sometimes if you just yield your thoughts and actions to the Lord He will guide you. even when i was preparing for chairing i was half dead but somehow the Lord just kept me in there. i hope my chairing was ok.. yup and i went to pizza hut with my dad for dinner on sat(:
we had quite a good talk(: he said something pretty meaningful which went something like:
“the Holy Spirit can never hide” and it really got me thinking. i really need to express God’s love through what i say and do.

sat was pretty tiring considering i actually went for training:D then i went for fairfield carnival which was absolutely ____.. err caritas can tell you what that word is.heh. but i won a nike bottle hehe. then ltf was quite interesting except the speaker was abit too soft.
then went out for dinner with giddy huixian and caritas. **health warning: try your best not to eat at places which allow you to add your own flavouring(eg. pepper, salt, cheese, chilli, tobasco sauce etc) cause SOMEONE will kill your food**

sunday was pretty normal(: at least we managed to get somewhere with ss.

todayy. haha. i woke up late, then i rushed out of the house. then had this really interesting banking experience which i do not wish to elaborate. haha
then had lunch at j8 with giddy jchia and mags. jchia kept meeting his schoolmates until they complained we walked around too much.
then went to church to mug/play piano for super long/frisbee
then went for dinner at waffletown. wahh nearly got chopped by the barrier at the carpark there. thank God my reflexes were fast if not kena owned by a barrier x.x

ohoh and i got new love. now i like CHEESECAKES and FRISBEE:D :D heh.

stressing. oh wells. but i shall strive to put my qt above my work although im seriously STRESSING. woww.. but if we continue to submit to the Lord and trust the Holy Spirit for guidance, we’ll get life and peace. its a great promise that our Lord gave us and we can claim it and come boldly to the throne of grace to ask for it(: wonderful indeed. peace of God. imagine. an all powerful almighty majestic omnipotent God imparting peace to us insignificant humans created from dust. its that peace that allows us to smile while we’re taking exams, its the peace that grants us calmness when all seems rough, it enables us to give thanks in all things, and it provides us the faith needed to pull through trials and tribulations.
we’ll live by faith. faith faith faith. faith that God holds tomorrow, faith that Christ prevails and intercedes for us, faith that the Holy Spirit indwells within us and leads us along, faith that each footstep is seen and placed by our Father in heaven, faith that in heaven we’ll see the Lord face to face, faith that we have a glorious hope that none can snatch away from us. and its this glorious salvation that cannot be displaced, sure as it stands, we will definitely receive it(:

He gives us the one most wonderful thing in the world, how can He not give us those other things like faith and peace and joy and so on(: thats where prayer comes in(: where we can talk to our Lord, and even lay our supplications at His feet, and if it is according to His perfect will, we will receive it(:

its the last day of the hols.. seriously its too short. and its pretty uneventful. sigh but today’s message by Prof Harding was absolutely wonderful.. somehow it truly convicted and convinced me. ah wells. love being a christian(:
heaven is a wonderful place, filled with glory and grace,
i want to see my Saviour’s face, heaven is a wonderful place:D
indeed what a day it will be when we see our glorious Saviour face to face in all His glory and perfect beauty.
what joy shall fill our hearts to wake within the palace of the King of kings. to know that He holds all(:
and what perfect knowledge we will receive. every tear shed every trial sent by a Divine Creator will be explained.we will understand it all.. and imagine what joy we will experience when we finally understand
Perfect joy will be ours in heaven when we are fully satisfied in Christ. Dear reader, if you arent saved, look to Christ as your Saviour and Lord(: He is all you need.

i felt so kiddy when we did the actions for with Christ in the vessel:D:D but i suppose it was a meaningful song(: but every song is a meaningful song when youre on a spiritual high. Dear friends God bless all of you through His infinite grace and endless love(:

 

camp thoughts

seriously how time flies. its already the end of the holidays..wow. and church camp is over.. holidays are over. playtime is over. its a wonder how our 70 years on this earth may seem like forever to us but its really a drop in the ocean compared to eternity in heaven(: time really fliesss. soon it’ll be sept hols then eoys then december hols:D then sec four D: ah wells. cant believe im already 15yrs old(: haha thank God for those 15 years that just seemed like an instant. well life is short and we shouldnt exactly waste what little we have by ministering unto the saints as well as being fishers of men(: its not gonna be easy but im gonna chiong to the best of the ability that God gives me(:

on a side note. im bored. seriously. sunday went for some concert organised by nygh. it was nothing really.. we left after the third band cause we were dying of boredom and we walked to plaza sing to have macs. try not to invite me and my cousins to concerts if youre performing. this’ll show you what i mean.

three performers=three flowers(: haha we spent super long wrapping them just for kicks. thats the way things should be right xD then just when we were about to give the flowers to X, one of my wonderfully strong cousins went to err. dunno do what and the rose became super small. poor thing. so we had to kope one from someone else hahar:D

wow finally im back(: after 6 (+1 i went to malacca for one extra day where someone brilliantly smsed me and made me pay for overseas roaming charges) days of a truly wonderfully enriching experience in church camp(:

church camp was quite interesting. first year we were actually serving on such a big scale(: sorry to everyone for the church camp tshirt): it was pretty much a big big flop cause we dint follow through with the final details. sorry for that. and the church camp booklet had a really ugly border. rawrrr. unexpected but sorry too. anyway we should be focusing on the spiritual food right(: not the material stuffs heh.

i was rooming with john and marc and we had an **ahem ahem** stowaway. wonder who. just ask enzhao. he should know who xD well it was alot alot of sports and games and walking the super steep mountain slope thingy to the ridiculously far soccer pitch with the playing pitch a consistency of baking dough. but overall the games and everything was fun. there was badminton and golf and tennis and squash and archery and table tennis(: but the fellowship was pretty important although we dint have much of it sad to say):

woww.. small small world. small small tiring world. i shall start from the morning.

morning i woke at like 7 30. cant believe it either. then like a few mins after i woke up my grandma called in a rather un-grand fashion. “EH ERNEST. YOU GOING OUT TODAY ANOT??WAKE UP ALREADY?!?**with simultaneous translation**” i was like … anyway i left the house at 10 for piano. then my piano teacher was quite stunned when she saw me with a bag, a wallet, a handphone, an ipod, a shoe bag and a tennis racket. ah wells her piano is so much nicer than mine**sobs uncontrollably**ah well maybe thats why shes a piano teacher. lol. thenthen i kept banging my tennis racket on the bus stop’s metal chairs till the vjc girls started laughing at me..

after-morning took a train to queenstown but ironically there was only one bus that went to queensway. nearly ended up taking cab like last time.. ah wells quite funny. the guy was staring at my face when i reacted to the 37 bucks price tag for restringing and regripping my tennis racket.

afternoon went for training but i was getting uber thrashed by everyone=/ must be last night’s tennis which i couldnt even serve. but it was quite interesting when i deuced with javis for 12 times. both of us were begging the other person to finish it off. like

after-training went to play abit of soccer which i was so tired i just kept blasting the ball towards the goal. no further comment. and i went to collect my restrung tennis racket(: and went to anchorpoint for my din-nuch. there was this shop owner with a seriously witch-like laugh. everyone was staring at her when she laughed. scary. then there was this couple like around my age feeding each other. they kept staring at the witch-laugh aunty and at me while i was drinking my 1.5litre 100plus bottle. hehe i looked like some drunkard. ah wells. reminded me of some stuff last time(: oh and i met luke on the train at city hall(: quite cool. except that the ppl around me laughed when he asked me why i went for table tennis training carrying a tennis racket. haha

ok now i need help. I DONT KNOW HOW TO PLAY SONG 220 AND 697 OF HG&G. HELP.

maybe i should get john and angyang to play together. after all we had a few rehearsals alr right xD its so funny yet somehow addictive to have three ppl playing hymns together. eh they actually sound pretty nice when you do it right(usually that just means me not screwing up and john doing all his fancy whatevers). okok back to the topic.

ahh i realised i havent been blogging for ten days): cant find the willpower/substance/free time/non sleep time/time to blog.. actually ive been online quite alot just that i dont really know what to blog about): (see like now im just going in circles not talking about anything relevant)
ah wells this week was pretty interesting.

tuesday:
went to church for cleanup at around 4pm. i really should applaud myself for wearing jeans when it was raining. my jeans were soaked from just below my waist till my socks. thenthen i dint know i had to faster go down to katong shopping center to do the church camp thingy): then in the end i rushed all the way there without eating my dinner. and it was so hard to get a cab i had to sorta steal one): oh and thats six bucks gone): poof.

i was an assistant teacher/logs/games. remind me next year not to tick so many boxes no matter how enticing/symmetrical they look.
day one: was pretty tiring. considering that recently i dont know why but ive been sleeping late so i zombie in the day. too bad i dint know who my teacher was. but the class was pretty okay(please note that im still and only describing how i felt on the FIRST DAY.). i guess i was pretty tired for the entire day. but the kids were quite cute(: there were the seriously wanna throw them into a box and seal it and send it to the darkest parts of africa type, and there were those really cute and endearing people(: but there was one boy who wanted to know more about Christ(: which was really quite a new thing for me.

day two: hmm. a few of the kiddies were awol. something good i suppose. but aunty pui meng also went awol.eek cant really remember much, just that i did the games(: we did longest shortest. the big eyes one was super cute:D they were all trying to open their eyes as big as possible hehe. i was thinking of saboing the teachers by calling for those with the most number of kids but i remembered i said that teachers werent allowed to participate when i saw deb’s friend walking up. heh. ohoh and i wanted to go for training… until i realised it started at 12. heh.

day three: last day(: but well i had to help out with logs):) haha
no games but the day was seriously pretty tiring. but i guess the two Bibles that we gave them is a good start. somehow i guess if you cant really say things that’ll impact them you just give them a Bible and pray for the best(: i hope they or their parents will read it and come to the wonderful saving grace of our Lord(: the cleanup was really really longggg. **yawns** but well we finished it and i cabbed home with mags. haha thankyou for paying for half my cab fare. heh.

well it was at nafa and it reminded me of becky’s concert there,where the pianist was super good. that pianist(not the ri one who looked like he was in pain when he played) was so carefree and he looked like he was having fun and enjoying himself while playing the piano. somehow i just keep thinking of that.
so far the past half a year has been rather disappointing. the pianist was enjoying himself while doing his job of playing the piano well. in the same way, our current teenage life should be the same, in terms of doing well as a student in acad, while enjoying life as much as possible(: you only get one shot at being a teen so might as well make it as enjoyable as possible(: ok so my new goal is simple.
seriously get my academic stuff in place. excel with what God gave me.
be an average person in sports and stuff(: like play well in table tennis and stuff and not neglect badminton and all(:
be an average person in music(: dont chiong music too much, keep it going steady and maybe play for church
be a shining christian cause thats what we’re here for(:

oh what comfort we have in Him(: ive realised that im seriously not being a good testimony for the Lord. this is really not working. i guess ive been far to slack.. both in studies and my relationship with the Lord. sigh i also dunno where to start so please pray that the Lord will show me the way, if i seek Him each and every day. However discouraged I may be, just let the Lord be all to me.

today was quite interesting, apart from the discovery center thing which took up almost the entire school day=.=ll we went to watch What happens in Vegas. haha last week friday was ironman. went to watch with sien,sim and jon tang(the other one). haha it was quite a stupid yet funny show. as sien described it. “cheap crack” the last part was funny. but joseph walked out of the theater like some drunk guy. and we kept delaying his progress to the much needed and sought after toilet xD then we all went high after that and kept spazzing.. i tried to drink a mouthful of my green tea and ended up trying very very hard not to spit it out while laughing. we laugh so hard my cheeks and my stomach hurt. ohh and i saw my cousin there haha small small world.

somehow i guess if exams make me go on a spiritual high i want exams every single day.(i dont know if im gonna regret saying that) but yeahh. you get my point right? ok good. ok i regret now. nvm. but please pray for me that i indeed may be consistent with my walk with God and not seek Him only when i need Him the most. yup.

In Mark 5, the Bible mentioned that Jesus casted out demons from the man and drove them into the swine which in turn ran off the cliff. and the demons actually acknowledged Jesus and knew He was the Son of God.
therefore. if devils knew who Jesus was, why cant we, made just a little lower than the angels, acknowledge who Jesus is? there are so many lost souls out there): but i guess what encourages me is in the song Not My Will where it goes ” and someday all shall praise Him, and magnify His name”

Secondly, the Second law of thermodynamics states that all natural processes of change in a closed system produce in the system a net decrease in information and a net loss of free energy. Basically all things degenerate. this definitely goes against the theory of evolution. therefore. my theory of evolution is that its just made up by some scientists who dont believe in God and the Bible and need to come up with an answer to explain to people who also dont believe in God and the Bible because they dont know/have other people who believe in God and the Bible to share with them God and the Bible so that they’ll believe in God and the Bible then they’ll understand that creation can be explained through God and the Bible and they’ll be happy in God and the Bible and the people who believe in God and the Bible wont need to worry about these type of theories that dont support God and the Bible. im pretty sure you got my point, if not, believe in God and the Bible now:D

my spiritual walk hasnt been that good.. its like a merry go round with its highs and lows.uniformly..
for the weekends i feel super close and charged to face the week anew.
the first half of the week goes well and there’s this effort to seek the Lord
butt.. the second half just falls apart and this effort is overshadowed by my immense lack of energy.. not good. and i dont want this to continue. im gonna try my very best to make this week God’s week, to totally commit everything to Him, draw nigh unto Him and He will draw nigh unto you. yup God bless for the week(:

well some stuff happened today): its pretty sad. but i came to this conclusion while eating dinner just now.

The reason why God made man so fragile, to spill blood so easily, is that whenever we see the blood, we may be reminded of the blood Jesus shed on the cross, and for that little pain we feel before we see the blood, it represents that immense pain our Saviour beared on the cross for us.

please be ok. it sure is p-r-e-t-t-y hard to give thanks in all things..not my will but Thine Lord.

andd today badminton was pretty fun although i was super off form. and i kept taking smacks by spinning around after hitting it with my backhand. super cool. its also commonly known to all those that played at toa payoh last time as the petal/flower move thingy. hehehe.

i just wanna thank God for seeing me through the day(: and even allowing the cdiv to win(: well the match really taught me something about pride and complacency.
for a start. dont be complacent? yeah as in sometimes you underestimate the situation youre in and you tend to not put in your best or just give less effort and thought into that particular event. remedy: seek God’s guidance. ultimately everything we experience is in His will right? and Him being way way way higher up and wayy more powerful than us, He looks down at us and at our future, and ultimately He knows whats best for us, which path to take. so seek God in everything you do no matter how small or minute you may think the situation is(:

its the name of my devotional by spurgeon. its so cool that i told my dad what book i was reading then he was like “oh look i have one by him” then he revealed his shining pearl. indeed its wonderful to have so many many books and christian literature. if only i actually had the time to read through each one of them. well.

today. today today today. was pretty good esp when i started the day with a prayer(: im starting to like prayer now:D the best part(s) of it is that:

firstly we’re seeking this almighty God, the creator of everything, the One who holds the universe in place and feels each heartbeat from our unworthy hearts(:

secondly we can pray almost anytime and anywhere(: it doesnt matter how noisy the environment is, just shout it to the Lord for He will hear us

thirdly. we can pray for almost anything(: as long as its not those type of selfish wants and desires. its simply comforting to be able to cast all our frivolous little worries on a God who has seen it all, gone through it all and most importantly controls it all.

to recap. we have that privilege to pray to an almighty and powerful God anytime we want, knowing that He will definitely not ignore us. what more could we ask for?

wow im posting super often. too much time ler.hehh.
wahh im such a nut. i thought i dint bring my pencil box then i went to go borrow a pen from ang yang=.=ll you go ernest. other than that that last 10mins-become-20mins talk i had with john and angyang was really quite good(: hope to have more of those stuff as well as more time(:

ltf went quite well although i was pretty much lagging for the entire thingy. but the cool thing is that the video talked about prayer, faith, and faith in prayer. the exact same things my little green book was talking about:D

Prayer is a seriously powerful tool for any christian. im gonna make a resolution to start every single day with a prayer. that JUST and ONLY means around 10mins(20 if extra 10 mins of start-up time included) taken off of my precious sleeping time.hehh no. actually its gonna be really worth it. im pretty sure of that(: like martin luther he was like “today’s gonna be really busy, which means i need even more time to pray”(abridged version)

on a side note. i met sien on the way to newton mrt. ohhmy. just when i was blessed with three days free of torment and oppresion i end up meeting some half french guy with a half french goatee dressed in some totally NOT striking yellow shirt. ughhhh. ok just kidding kay frenchy youre a nice friend when youre not. err. yeah not that. hehh. oh yeah. sien just reminded me

wow i feel uber powerful posting at 12 30am. muahaha i ponned lang arts heh.well. we’re finally gonna go get table tennis jerseys!:D although i know some ppl do write off table tennis): and i had a really really fun time changing all my white fonts to black): stupid blogskin.

ahhwells. its Good Friday(: the day the Saviour of the world made the supreme sacrifice, theres no greater love than this, that a man would lay his life down for a friend. being a christian is really a blessed thingg(: and gratz to all those who are gonna reaffirm their faith, zech, joshua chia, ang yang, etc(sorry if i forgot your names=x) yeahh may you all continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord and shine as lights for Him in this dark world(:

point 1: im seriously hopeless at chem pracs. like totally utterly devastatingly hopeless.

sub point: i was such a genius i forgot to close the tap of the burette while filling it.
sub point: even better i put too much in the filter funnel and the burette overflowed.

sub point: i let like three quarter the burette of stuff go in and it still dint change color D:< TWICE.

Ok thats it. im pretty ____ tired of this. pardon my language. but yeah. im having a fabulous time keeping myself well enough to get to school. and im having a nice time trying to put some ink marks on my homework. and now more. i guess. sometimes things dont go as youd like them to huh. oh yeah. and we lost to cat high in first doubles. set score 2-2 last set 9-11. i sure am feeling pretty encouraged and way happy.sorry.

He’s seen me through it all!(: im really so glad to be a christian, that we have an almighty Father in heaven.its during these times where i really wouldnt know how to live had i not been a christian(: this week has been really really trying, and i guess God really showed Himself faithful to His promises. and my verse of the week is “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness”-taken from 2 cor v9, and my song of the week is And Can it Be(: anyway. God has kept close to me for this entire week, even though i was(and still am) tired for about 90% of the time. i guess when things like project work,hwk,piano,tuition,preparationforzonals,friendsandplayingfortwoservices, oneofwhichiwashalfsightreading): ok sorry lost it.when these things get at you, its really really discouraging.but in His own special way God has kept me from falling and seen me through each and every trial, and i am glad that im not as pro as some ppl are in piano, as it made me trust in Him more.sometimes when you get too pro or good in any particular thing, you tend to rely solely on yourself, and believe that it is your own strength to accomplish it.yup. its gonna be a new week..and i cant say im looking forward to it or excited about anything, but my God is able to carry me through.i’ll end here. to God be the glory. for the things HE has done.absolutely nothing of us.

its been a really really slack yet tiring day for me. oh wells i shall start from yest.
monday.
found out who our langb teacher was. wowman. really i dint know if i was the autistic one or she was. sigh. it dint help that aaron’s friend mentioned that she was really hopeless. there goes one year of my precious lit.oratleasthalfofit): then monghan decided to be nice and show us chao gruesome pics of the nanjing massacre. really really gruesome. and they put it on their postcards at that time. its like “Visit Japan 2007″ with a backdrop of a soldier holding a head smiling. wow.WOW. then we went to the audi for the ib thingy.. sat beside jp, and drong decided to give us a nice long lengthy talk before announcing the holiday. poor guy beside jp la, he was so terrified when jp turned around and whoohooed him. poor poor guy. anywayy then i went out with aaron for lunch at raffles city subway.. heh i was so happy i dint really care where we went and how long we took. then aaron was ranting about how where we sat was the exact same place where he and jie hui sat blah blah blah. i was too hungry i ended up going to moss burger for another burger:D oh wells. broke for the wk. who cares its SHANGHAI WHOOHOO:D:D:D:D:D:D anywayy i went home and immediately zoinked out.. only waking up in time for dinner then tuition): well at least its a holiday.

i forgot to off my lousy phone alarm clock so i got owned at exactly 6am. rawr. anywayy i tried going back to sleep for a few mins? thenthenthen my dog bark then no more sleep. the day was pretty useless.. main events were like finding someone’s christmas card i nearly lost, finding missing textbooks, guitaring, writing stuff, finding other lost things, but most importantly seeking God(: today’s QT was about God giving us stability in our out of control life(: that we should seek to lean more on Christ and decrease ourselves. i guess theres really much to learn from nehemiah esp about the king part(: if you stand up for Christ He will stand up for you(in front of God), and with God all things are possible. yup. and this is my all time favorite picture from my europe trip(:dsc00170.jpg
it really shows one of God’s lesser appreciated creations, clouds(: sometimes we take things for granted and i guess this is just one of them(: and it really reminds you of God’s sovereignty.

resolutions and thoughts

ok.its the start of a new year and i thought it may be good if i start with some resolutions for the new year(: but first. some stuff about last yr.
I really wanna thank God for even seeing me through the past year. when you look back at it then you realise how much He’s led you and held your hand through it all(: Its also encouraging to see that God can even use someone as small and insignificant as me to serve in the games com(: im sorry if the games werent exactly as exciting or dint live up to expectations but its really a privilege to serve the most high God. and through this experience He’s really increased my faith and trust in Him. On the academic arena its been a notsogood year, but its really a cause for reflection and self examination. ok to put it plainly my results were just hopeless. well at least according to some of the more influential ppl in my house=.=l next.i dont exactly have many displayable resolutions here, but its gonna be a really really really tough year ahead esp with all the projects coming in and lousy historiography thingys): its a new class new environment new experience new everything. i just hope that the main constant thing will be my constant walk with God(: yup i hope that i can just continue to draw closer to God and experience Him(: yup thats about all.
